The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) is set to undertake a two-day clean-up and enforcement operation along the Lagos Port Corridor, responding to concerns raised by a recent Vanguard report highlighting deteriorating conditions. Scheduled for May 14 to 15, this initiative aims to enhance operational efficiency and restore investor confidence in Nigeria's key maritime gateway.
The Lagos Port, crucial for trade, has faced criticism over congestion and inadequate infrastructure, hampering the ease of doing business. PEBEC's intervention underscores its commitment to improving the business climate, particularly in light of Nigeria's economic recovery efforts. According to PEBEC Executive Secretary, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, “This clean-up is a vital step towards ensuring that our ports operate at optimal efficiency, facilitating smoother trade flows.”
