In a significant security operation, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) reported that Nigerian troops neutralised 129 terrorists in June, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat insecurity across the nation. This development comes amid escalating criminal activities, including kidnappings and illegal oil refining, which have plagued various regions.
The DHQ also announced the arrest of 486 suspects and the rescue of 542 individuals who were victims of abduction. These actions aim to restore order and reassure citizens of the military's commitment to their safety. Major General Ahmed Auwal, spokesperson for the Armed Forces, stated, "We remain resolute in our mission to eradicate the threats posed by terrorists and criminal elements in our society."
