The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has issued a firm denial regarding its alleged involvement in the recovery of funds lost on the online platform known as "CPM." This statement comes in light of growing concerns over fraud and misinformation circulating among users, prompting NITDA to caution the public against potential scams.
The agency clarified that it has no affiliation with any initiatives aimed at reclaiming lost funds from CPM, a platform that has faced scrutiny for financial irregularities. NITDA's Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, emphasized, "We urge the public to be vigilant and avoid falling prey to fraudsters claiming to represent NITDA or any government agency." This warning highlights the increasing risks associated with online financial transactions and the need for users to exercise caution.
As digital platforms continue to evolve, the potential for fraudulent activities remains a significant concern. NITDA's proactive stance serves as a reminder of the importance of regulatory clarity and public awareness in combating cybercrime. The situation underscores the necessity for users to remain informed and skeptical, particularly in an increasingly digital economy.
