The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has taken a significant step towards empowering women in the export sector by securing N979.8 million in grants for 128 women exporters. This initiative aims to enhance their participation in international digital trade and boost non-oil exports, a vital area for Nigeria's economic diversification. The grants are expected to provide women with the resources they need to innovate and expand their market reach.

NEPC Executive Director Segun Awolowo stated, "This funding is a game changer for women in export, enabling them to overcome barriers and compete on a global scale." This investment aligns with the broader national strategy to promote inclusivity and harness the potential of women entrepreneurs, who have often been underrepresented in export activities.

Looking ahead, the NEPC's initiative could serve as a blueprint for similar programs aimed at other marginalized groups within Nigeria’s economy. By fostering an inclusive export environment, the council is not only addressing gender disparities but also tapping into a reservoir of talent that could significantly contribute to Nigeria's economic growth.
