The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has issued a stark warning to the public regarding a surge in fraudulent offers related to the auction of forfeited vehicles. This alert follows the discovery of a widespread scam exploiting the agency's name to deceive unsuspecting citizens. Reports have indicated that scammers are using social media and fake websites to lure individuals into purchasing vehicles that are neither real nor available.

NDLEA Chairman Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, "We urge the public to remain vigilant and verify the authenticity of any auction offers. Do not fall victim to these scams." The agency has reiterated that legitimate auctions are conducted through official channels, and individuals should only rely on information disseminated directly from NDLEA’s verified platforms.

As this issue exposes a concerning vulnerability within public awareness, authorities are now focusing on increasing educational campaigns to inform citizens about the risks of such scams. The NDLEA's proactive stance aims to safeguard the public while reinforcing the importance of due diligence in financial transactions.
