In a significant operation underscoring Nigeria's ongoing battle against drug trafficking, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) successfully intercepted large cocaine shipments destined for the UK and Australia. This operation highlights the increasing global demand for narcotics and Nigeria's pivotal role as a transit hub in international drug trade routes.
In a related effort, the NDLEA also destroyed 37,500 kilograms of skunk in Orogun, Ughelli North LGA, spanning 15 hectares of farmland. These simultaneous actions reveal the agency's commitment to combating both trafficking and local cultivation of illicit drugs. "Our relentless pursuit of drug traffickers and growers is crucial to safeguarding our youth and communities," stated Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa, the NDLEA's Chairman/Chief Executive.
