The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intensified its call for collaborative efforts to combat the surging drug abuse crisis in Taraba State. This plea comes on the heels of significant law enforcement actions, including the seizure of 2,530 kg of illicit drugs and the arrest of 382 individuals for drug-related offenses this year. These figures underscore the alarming prevalence of drug abuse in the region.

NDLEA Chairman, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa, emphasized the need for a united front, stating, “We cannot win this battle alone; communities, local leaders, and government agencies must work together to create a drug-free Taraba.” The agency's proactive stance highlights a growing recognition of the multifaceted nature of drug abuse, which poses serious public health and safety challenges.

As Taraba grapples with these issues, the call for collaboration is particularly timely. Stakeholders must leverage available resources and community networks to foster prevention and rehabilitation initiatives. Without concerted efforts, the state risks further entrenchment of drug-related problems that could undermine public safety and well-being.
