The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) is poised to launch its oil and gas park in the fourth quarter of 2026, a significant step in boosting local industry capacity. This initiative aligns with Nigeria's broader strategy to enhance domestic production and reduce dependence on foreign oil technology and services. As part of this development, a 2.5-megawatt Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) power plant will be installed, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable energy solutions within the sector.

"By operationalizing this park, we are creating an environment that fosters innovation and local investment," stated Simbi Wabote, Executive Secretary of NCDMB. This facility is expected to support local businesses and create jobs, ultimately contributing to Nigeria's economic diversification.

With oil prices fluctuating and global energy dynamics shifting, the successful establishment of this park could position Nigeria as a more resilient player in the energy market. As the country looks towards its future in oil and gas, the NCDMB's park represents a critical opportunity to harness local talent and resources, paving the way for a more self-sufficient energy landscape.
