Enegix Construction JV PMCC Ltd has escalated its dispute regarding the Ebonyi Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project by formally petitioning both the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). This move highlights mounting tensions over alleged mismanagement and corruption within state-funded infrastructure projects.

The company claims that delays and financial discrepancies have hindered the project's progress, which is vital for enhancing local agricultural access. "We believe that transparency and accountability are crucial for the successful completion of this project," said Chijioke Nwankwo, Chief Executive Officer of Enegix. He emphasized the need for regulatory bodies to investigate the situation thoroughly to ensure justice and effective governance.

As Enegix seeks intervention from these federal agencies, the outcome of this petition could set a precedent for future construction contracts in Nigeria. Stakeholders are watching closely, as the resolution of this dispute may either restore confidence in public-private partnerships or exacerbate existing distrust in government oversight of critical infrastructure projects.
