In a significant move to enhance the quality of health journalism in Nigeria, the Center for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJD) and Premium Times recently hosted a workshop titled "Investigative Skills for Covering Nigeria’s Priority Health Challenges" in Abuja. Spanning two days, the event attracted a diverse group of participants, including early-career journalists and seasoned media professionals, all eager to sharpen their investigative capabilities in health reporting.
The workshop addressed critical issues affecting Nigeria's health sector, from funding shortages to systemic corruption, equipping journalists with the necessary tools to uncover and report these challenges effectively. “This training is crucial for fostering transparency and accountability in health reporting,” stated Kemi Afolabi, a lead facilitator and health journalist.
